Chopra and others (1927) have shown that the alkaloids of Holarrliena antidysenterica possess marked amcebicidal properties, and Ghosh and Ghosh (1928) have shown that the Indian species of H. antidysenterica contain, besides conessine, two other alkaloids which they named kurchicine and kurcliine, respectively.
